A little dose of sanity
NIce post from Rich Siegel out in LA on the absurdly overhyped ad industry practice of working late. Fact is, as Rich says, burning the midnight oil rarely makes the work better and often makes it worse. But our industry has fetishized staying late to the point that people actually speak of it like it’s a good thing. Listen, I’m all for being passionate about what we do. And I work my ass off on every project I’m given. But if you really think that spending every waking hour at the agency makes you a better employee, you’re not just crazy, you’re wrong.
