Life will go on
Yes, they changed Facebook.
Again.
Why are you so damned surprised? They do this all the time. And every time, everyone acts like it’s the end of the world.
It’s not.

This may surprise some folks, but it is not Facebook’s goal to piss all of you off. They run a business. They would like that business to remain successful. To that end, they will occasionally make changes to their product.
You may genuinely dislike the changes. I get it. Lots of people just don’t like change, in any form.
But if you’re simply having a gut reaction and not giving the new look and features a chance, you are probably missing out on some cool stuff.
The list feature is awesome. The subscribe feature is incredibly useful. The scrolling ticker is a great way to stay current on all of your friends’ activity. Even saying happy birthday just got easier. Now, you click on someone’s name and all of today’s birthdays come up and you can type messages to everyone in one place. Pretty cool.
And they’re rolling out more stuff as you read this.
Facebook, like most of the Internet, is in a perpetual beta stage. They try things. Some work, some don’t. Some can be improved upon, others need to be ditched.
That’s the beauty of the digital world. It’s always evolving. Do you really want Facebook to sit on their collective hands and never change a single thing about your experience? Do you really want them to stop trying to get better?
Maybe you do.
But they’re not going to stop. So get used to it.
And maybe, just maybe, take a breath next time before you start complaining about it on the very same service that connects you to all of your friends and family, lets you share content, helps you plan events, alerts you to job opportunities, offers you all kinds of games and does a million other cool things.
For free.
