Our work is done here
I’m sick of everyone complaining
about the current state of advertising.
Why you mad? Because we’ve become so awesome at it?
Because we’ve developed an “always on” digital world
where the content firehose flows at max pressure 24/7/365.25?
Because our brains and our devices have melded seamlessly
to create a marvelous minotaur of marketing magnificence?
You guys are crazy.
The dream has been achieved.
There is virtually no limit to the messaging
we can put out to our prospective consumers.
All we have to do is nudge the data dial this way or that
and we can optimize our delivery of fresh content
every second of every day
until the world is vaporized by the fiery fury of our dying sun.
To quote the great and wise philosopher Barry Manilow,
“looks like we made it.”
The machine is in place.
The levers are clearly marked.
And the outcomes predictable to within a few billionths of a bitcoin.
Time to sit back, admire our work, and raise a glass to the gods of our good fortune.
Seriously, what is everyone so upset about?
