Episode 60: Taking the suck out of agency communication

Some of the world's best communications companies have some of the worst internal communication you'll ever witness.

I spent over 25 years at ad agencies and have experienced this not so delicious irony firstand, many times.

We make assumptions, seeing our peers as avatars for what we need done instead of as beautifully flawed human beings working towards a shared goal.

We sit in silos and judge through our tainted lenses. Account sucks. Creatives are babies. Production is out to kill our dreams. And strategy is, well, just kinda strange, no?

And then we wonder why projects break down, meetings turn into finger pointing fests and everyone goes home frustrated to families that are forced to deal with the worst versions of ourselves night after night.

We can do better.

Here's me, talking about how we might do that in this very special, solo episode of the DesuckifyWork® podcast. I hope you enjoy.

And if you're so inclined, let's set up a free half hour coaching session and see what solutions we can come up with, together.

If you enjoy this episode, please like, share, rate, review, or consider raising a herd of llamas and training them to drive so they can travel around the country and spit on every un-desuckified workplace they find. There's a free pair of our cushioned-bottom DesuckifyWork® socks for anyone who captures video of said llamas in action.

Bye, everyone!

We spend about half our waking lives working. Let’s make that time a bit better, shall we? Let’s destroy the fallacy that business should not be fun. And let’s discover together that laughter, levity and a little lightheartedness are the secret to making work feel less like work and more like living.
